For their last gig of the season, Sangvar Day will take over the stage at Alchemy GastroPub on Saturday 20, and it promises to be a crazy rock night! "Sangvar Day" is the name of the blue and red silk cords that ancient Khmer warriors tied around their head and biceps before a fight. They were said to increase warriors' strength. Alt Rock Band Sangvar Day picked their name in 2012 when Julian a.k.a. KPC, "King of Power Chords", rhythm guitarist and drummer Julien, the "Ghost Note Guy", founded the band. Soon afterwards Robin (vocals, lead guitar) joined them, adding vocal intensity and controversial lyrics to Julian's demonic riffs. Andry is their new bassist; and you can count on him to add some more mayhem to the mix. They play only original songs and are now touring for their second studio recording: “National Anthem”. How do they sound like?
